Girls' Rugby

We have a flourishing U18 girls' team and a growing number of U15 girls and we always welcome new players.

Girls' rugby was established at Glossop Rugby Club in 2005.

Girls' rugby is divided into two playing age groups - Under 18 and Under 15. Girls from school Year 8 to Year 10 inclusive play Under 15 rugby; girls from Year 11 to Year 13 play Under 18 rugby. From the age of 18 upwards girls can play senior women's rugby and it is hoped that Glossop Rugby Club will start a women's team next season (2008-09).

 

 

The Coaching Staff

 

The coaches are qualified and experienced and aim to make the sessions fun, informative, interesting and suitable for all levels of ability.

Whether girls want to play competitive rugby or just have fun and exercise, these sessions will be suitable for all. Through our teams you can also access County and Regional rugby. * Training is at Glossop Rugby Club on Thursday evening from 6.00pm till 7.30pm - from beginning of September to end of April - summer training is also available.

* There is a charge of £2.00 per session; new players get their first session FREE.

* Girls of all shapes, sizes, fitness levels and experience levels are welcome.

* Girls do not need to have played or know anything about rugby to join

* For training, basic leisure wear i.e. tracksuit bottoms, t-shirt, sweat shirt and trainers are sufficient. Rugby boots are required for playing.

* Gumshields are required and can be bought at training sessions for only £2.00.

* You are over the age of 18 and are interested in playing Women's Rugby. Glossop Rugby Club is looking to start a women's team as soon as possible, so if you are interested please get in touch. OR

* You are involved with another Girls' team who may be interested in fixtures.
