Richard,

How did you start playing rugby?

When I started secondary school I met Will Shaylor, I was playing football for Glossop back then I was only 11 and I didn’t know any better. I was soon convinced to try rugby being helped by the fact that my Grandfather had captained Wales. I went to a training session and was coached by Oaf and it was downhill from then.

Tell us something about your rugby career, which clubs you have played for and what holds for the future?

I have always played for Glossop and wouldn’t ever want to play for another club. We had a very good colts side and got through to the last 16 in a national cup. I have also played in and won a couple of finals with the First and Second team.

What is your occupation? Tell us something about it.

I work for a Training Company Based in Salford Quays I spend most of my time on the road which means I can’t always make training which sucks, but I love my job and enjoy meeting new people.

Have you any match day superstitions?

No not really nothing that I can think of, apart from drinking a bottle of Lucazade but that’s just a last ditched attempt to give me some energy.

Any other sporting achievements?

I used to play a lot Tennis when I was at school and used to play for Glossop I was national ranked for a short time but start a full time job stopped me playing. I didn’t want to give up my rugby it means a lot to me.

Do you play any other sports or have any other pastimes.

I some time play squash with a few of the other lads and its good for fitness but we don’t play enough. I enjoy playing any sport apart from Cricket I’d rather watch paint dry.

What’s your biggest ever disaster during a game, if you have ever had one, any amusing on pitch or other rugby incidents that you would like to recall for us?

No disaster apart from my tackling can be shocking. On tour in Ireland with the colts we played in an under 21s tournament we were 17 and got hammered in one match but when we scored we all just fell on the floor. On the same tour we pulled out the bag our 13 man lineout to devastating effect well it was for Colin in his wheelchair as we ploughed into him.

It’s our round, what do you fancy?

Larger Larger and more larger and a pint of cool crisp cider to wash it down maybe a cheeky Vimto

Who is your favourite pin-up-girl ?

The female body is not there for gawping at only joking Jessica Alba is hot,  Jessica Simpson do you need me to carry on.

Who would play you in the film version of your life?

Someone just as good lucking as me a cross between Peter Kay and Jonny Vagas!!!!

Or Nicolas Cage (gone in 60 seconds great film)

What would be your theme song?

The Theme tune to The A Team, a classic old school TV show which could never be repeated I love it when a plan comes together.

Your fantasy career?

It would have to be something to do with Driving an F1 driver or a rally driver the new Colin McCray or Michael Schumacher just not German a Welsh one.

How would you blow £50,000

I would probably be Mr sensible and pay some debts off so I can enjoy the money I earn and have a nice life style but if I didn’t have debts I buy a sports car of some sort.

If you could own any car what would it be?

The Porsche from bad boys 1 and the cobra in it, but I think I would have to go with Eleanor from Gone in 60 seconds a ford Mustang GT500 a sexy car.

What would be your three desert island books be?

Lord of the Rings and Chris Moyle’s,  both of his books I love his show on radio one and enjoyed all the books mentioned the first time round.

What are your three all time favourite music tracks (and who by)?

Eye of the tiger from rocky, Meat loaf bat out of hell and the Who pinball wizard.

What would be your ideal holiday?

Going back to NZ for some action packed sport and thrills then to the Maldives to relax.

If you were on a long flight who would you most like to sit next to and have a good long chat?

Apart from Mandi the wife to be I would probably say my grandfather I was nine when he died and I would like to talk rugby with him and hear his rugby stories.
